BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that a well-planned plot is underway to delay the country’s national election.
The BNP secretary general made the comment while virtually addressing a meeting on Tuesday marking the 44th death anniversary of party founder Ziaur Rahman.
The meeting took place at BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan and was attended by senior leaders from the party’s various affiliated wings.
“In exchange for the blood and sacrifice of thousands of students and mass people, a new possibility has been created for real democracy and a truly fascism-free modern Bangladesh. But now, a new shadow has fallen upon that hope,” he said.
In light of these developments, Fakhrul called on all BNP leaders and activists to remain vigilant and united in face of any conspiracies. “Every BNP leader and worker must be alert, aware and ready to confront these threats,” he urged.
He accused certain infiltrators within the government of plotting to mislead the country and divert it from its democratic path. “You must have noticed that the politics of division has begun once again.”
