National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has claimed that NCP has no relation with the two student advisers Mahfuj Alam and Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain.
Nahid Islam made the claim at a press conference held at the NCP’s temporary office in the capital’s Banglamotor on Saturday (May 24).
Nahid said, “The two student advisers ((Mahfuj Alam and Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain)) who have been in the interim government have no relation with the NCP. They joined the government as representatives of the mass uprising. I was also with them. If they want to do politics, hold elections, they can’t do that while in the government.”
“Efforts are being made to tarnish their image by connecting them to the NCP which is undesirable. It is their decision whether two student advisers who have joined the government as representatives of the mass uprising will leave the government or not. Our expectation is that all advisers, including student advisers, will work together to implement the aspirations, including the legitimacy of the mass uprising,” he said.
The NCP convener also condemned the propaganda being spread about the two student advisers.
