‘Showing Mahmudur Rahman arrested audacious’

Staff Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia said that showing Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman arrested despite his bail granted by the High Court (HC) is the same as audacious incident.

The BNP Chairperson said this at a statement on Tuesday.

Voicing deep concerns over keeping the editor ‘in continuous detention’, she demanded immediate release of Mahmudur Rahman at the statement.

In the statement, the former prime minister said, “I strongly condemn the ill-effort to keep an editor in detention at any cost and strongly protest at the blatant repression on him.”

Khaleda also warned that the government will have to face dire consequences of tortures on journalists and for gagging the dissent voices.
