‘Tarique’s arrest warrant to divert people’s attention’

Senior Correspondent: BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the warrant against Tarique Rahman in the Zia Orphanage Trust case has been issued to divert people’s attention from the ‘partisan’ search committee.

Mirza Fakhrul made the allegation through a press release on Thursday evening.

He said the arrest warrant was issued as part of the government’s continued attacks on Tarique to remove him from politics.

Fakhrul also said, “Frustration over the search committee has been created in the people’s mind and arrest warrant has been issued to divert people’s attention from the issue.”
