Khaleda on way to Sylhet

Senior Correspondent: BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has started her journey for the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) to offer prayers in Sylhet.

The BNP Chief left her Gulshan residence for Sylhet by road around 9:15am on Monday.

She is scheduled to return Dhaka this evening as there is no political programme like rally or procession.

BNP Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moeen Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Vice-Chairman Shahjahan Omor, Barkatullah Bulu, joint secretary Syed Moyazzem Hossain Alal and other joined the tour.

Following the Sylhet tour, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said that Khaleda Zia will visit the two shrines. Only visiting shrine is the aim of the tour.

Earlier on January 31, Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched her party’s campaign from Sylhet.
