Sammilita Islami Oikya Jote emerges

Senior Correspondent: ‘Sammilita Islami Oikya Jote’ another political platform comprising of the country’s seven political parties has emerged ahead of the election.

The political alliance led by Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon (faction) Amir Maulana Mohammad Zafarullah Khan was announced in a press conference at Purana Paltan in the capital on Saturday.

The alliance includes Bangladesh Khelafat Andolon, Bangladesh Janaseba Andolon, Islamic Movement Bangladesh, Liberal Party, Islamic Democratic Forum, National Ulama Front and Bangladesh Muslim Janata Party.

Maulana Zafarullah Khan has been made chairman of the alliance.

Confirming about his post, he said, “Advocate Mohammad Khairul, chairman of Islamic Movement, has been selected secretary general.”

He further said, “Though the alliance emerged ahead of the general election, the process had been going on for long days. Its activities will continue after the election as well.”

Demanding a free and fair polls, Zafrullah said, “If there is seen a fair atmosphere, we will try to give candidates in all 300 constituencies.”

Citing that they received invitation from different alliances, he said, “We will take decision in this regard later.”

“A letter will also be served to Prime Minister by the alliance seeking appointment for dialogue over the upcoming national parliament election,” he added.
