Jatiya Party for polls schedule without delay

Staff Correspondent: Jatiya Party’s alliance has urged the Election Commission (EC) to announce the election schedule without delay.

Ruhul Amin Howladar, secretary general of Jatiya Party, said this while briefing reporters after a meeting with Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday.

“There won’t be any dialogue after today. We told the EC not to delay any further and declare the election schedule,” Ruhul Amin Howladar said.

A 16-men delegation of the alliance led by Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad held an hour-long meeting with the election commissioners from 11:15am.

JP Presidium Members Anisul Islam Mahmud, Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu, Mujibul Haque Chunnu and Mashiur Rahman Ranga were present, among others, at the meeting.

Chief Election Commissioner K M Nurul Huda, Election Commissioners Mahbub Talukdar, Md. Rafiqul Islam, Begum Kabita Khan and Brigadier General (Retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury and Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed joined the meeting.

Earlier on November 4, Election Commission announced that it would announce the complete election schedule on November 8.
