AL denies to disclose list of alliance for strategic reasons

Staff Correspondent: Though the ruling Awami League (AL) on Sunday gave the Election Commission (EC) the list of parties those will contest under the 14-party alliance, it denied to disclose names of the for strategic reasons.

Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, member secretary of AL’s election conducting sub-committee, told this to the reporters at Nirbachan Bhaban on Sunday evening, after handing over the list to the EC.

He said, “We submitted the list to the EC in line with its instructions.  But we have no authority to disclose names of the list. It is a part of our political strategies.”
