Joynal Hazari dies

Former lawmaker from Feni-2 constituency, freedom fighter and advisory council member of the ruling Awami League Joynal Abedin Hazari has died at a private hospital in the capital on Monday (December 27).

He breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the hospital around 5pm, Awami League Deputy Office Secretary Sayem Khan confirmed.

In her condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed profound shock and sorrow at the demise of Joynal Abedin Hazari.

She also prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.

Hazari elected lawmaker with Awami League ticket from Feni-2 constituency in 1986, 1991 and 1996.

He was also general secretary of greater Noakhali district unit of Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League.
