Govt won’t get people’s confidence despite Padma Bridge construction

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that the government will not be able to earn confidence of the country’s people, no matter how many Padma Bridges they construct by blocking the democracy.

He on Wednesday (July 6) made the comment in response to PM’s statement ‘People of the country are casting vote for us again and again’.

He said, “Hold a credible election to see how much confidence people have in the government. There is no point of constructing 1000 Padma bridges if there is no democracy and political emancipation of people and if they don’t have voting and other rights.”

He questioned how the government gained people’s confidence by rigging votes the night before the election day and by depriving people of their voting rights.
