No scope to amend Constitution: Obaidul Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said there is no scope to amend the Constitution, and the next general election will be held as per Constitution.

He said this to journalists after paying rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at Dhanmondi Road No. 32 on Friday morning, marking the late leader’s 103rd birth anniversary and the National Children's Day 2023.

Quader said Awami League wants the general election to be held as per the Constitution and keeping the Constitutional provisions intact.

Whenever BNP assumed power, it repeatedly defamed the Constitution, he said, adding that Awami League will protect the dignity of the Constitution and hold the next election accordingly.
