Prof Moniruzzaman Miah no more

Staff Correspondent: Noted educationist and former Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof. Moniruzzaman Miah is more.

He breathed his last at Squire Hospital in the city on Monday  noon, family sources said.

 

Miah, 81, was hospitalized Sunday night in a critical condition.

A confirmed bachelor, Professor Moniruzzaman Miah was born in 1935 in Mushidabad District of West Bengal, India, and had done his masters in Geography from Rajshahi University.

He had obtained his Ph.D from Paris-Sorbonne University, France, later on.

 

Prof. Moniruzzaman Miah started his career as a lecturer of Geography and Environment Science Department.

 

The namaz-e-janaza of late Miah will be held today after Asr prayers at Azad Mosque in Gulshan-2 and will be buried at Banani graveyard thereafter.
