Rick Haque Sikder drops from National Bank board

Rick Haque Sikder cannot hold the post of director at the National Bank.

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) did not approve Rick as a director of the bank as it found that he was a loan defaulter. As a result, he is dropping from the board of directors of the bank.

Confirming the matter on Tuesday (June 29), BB Executive Director and Spokesperson Md Serajul Islam told risingbd that the National Bank sent a proposal to extend the tenure of directorship of Rick Haque Sikder at the National Bank board but the central bank did not approve the proposal.

Rick also breached the credit discipline of the central bank to invest loans, he said.

The bank’s board was restructured after its chairman, Zainul Haque Sikder, passed away on February 10. Rick is the son of Zainul Haque Sikder.
