Remittance in first 12 days of July hits $1,071m

Bangladesh has received $1,071m in remittances in the first 12 days of July in the fiscal 2025-26, according to the latest update from Bangladesh Bank.
The amount in local currency is Tk13,000 crore. During the same period last year, the country’s remittance inflow was Tk14.40crore.
The updated data from the central bank confirmed it on Sunday (July 13).
Central bank officials said the current government has taken a strict stance to prevent money laundering. Following the steps, the money sent through various illegal channels, including hundi, has decreased. As a result, remittance collection through legal channels has increased.
