The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number three.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a notification in this regard on Monday (July 14).
According to the bulletin, the low-pressure area over North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh intensified into a well-marked low and now lies over the southwest coastal areas of Bangladesh and adjoining Gangetic West Bengal. It is likely to intensify. Under its influence, a steep pressure gradient lies over North Bay and the adjoining area. Gusty/squally weather may affect the maritime ports, the North Bay, and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to come close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
