National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has said, “We want reforms for the genocide trial and a new Bangladesh. We want impartial appointments from the Election Commission to the ACC. We want the Prime Minister’s power to be controlled.”
He said, “We will not let dictatorship return to Bangladesh. We want pro-Bangladesh politics. There will be no place for pro-India or pro-Pakistan politics in our Bangladesh.”
He said this at a rally in front of the municipal market of Barguna town around 6 pm on Monday (July 14).
Nahid Islam said, “After the July uprising, extortionists and corruption are still in the Bangladeshi state. We have seen that a party has sustained that system. A party is patronizing extortionists and corruption.”
NCP’s southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah, northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam, central leaders Zafarin Zara, Shamanta Sharmin and Chattrogram region coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Talat Mohamud Rafi were also present.
