India announces simplified visa rules for Bangladesh

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka has introduced new rules for Bangladeshis to reduce the difficulties of the visa procedure.

Bangladeshis can now apply for Indian visas without submitting their passports, the Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC), Bangladesh announced on Wednesday (July 12).

The applicants who require their passports back for other use while their visa application is being processed by the high commission will now have the option of taking their passports back at the time of submission of their visa application at IVAC. They will be required to resubmit their passports at IVAC seven days before the tentative date of delivery shown on the visa token.

Applicants while making online payments for the visa processing fee will also now have the option to pre-select a specific time slot for submitting their visa application at IVAC. This will help them avoid long queues and save them.

The Indian high commission is expecting that these steps will make the visa application procedure much easier.
