EC holds meeting with Facebook team

The Election Commission (EC) held a meeting with a team representing Facebook at its Agargaon office in the capital on Thursday.

A three-member Facebook delegation entered the EC office around 11.00am and held a meeting.

Ruzan Sarwar, head of Public Policy, Bangladesh, led the delegation which included Head of APAC Global Response Aidan Hoy and Regulatory Specialist Eugene Poh.

On the other hand, Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath, DEA-2 Project Director Brigadier General Abul Hasnat Mohammad Sayem and NID System Manager Muhammad Ashraf Hossain represented the Election Commission in the meeting.

During the meeting, they discussed efforts to curb the spread of disinformation and harmful content on its platform ahead of the upcoming general election in Bangladesh.
