Shafiul Alam becomes new Cabinet Secretary

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam
Secretariat Correspondent: The government has appointed Land Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam as new Cabinet Secretary on Sunday.
The public administration ministry issued a notification in this regard, making Alam the 21st Cabinet Secretary.
He will replace M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan who has been given contractual appointment as the Alternate Executive Director of the World Bank’s Washington Headquarters for three years.
Born in Cox’s Bazar on Dec 14, 1959, Shafiul Alam completed his BA and LLB in 1979-80 and MA in English in 1981 from the Chittagong University.
He later did MS in Development Administration from the Birmingham University.
