Jay Shah elected unopposed as next ICC chairman

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah will take over as the next chairman of the ICC in December this year after he emerged as the sole nominee, the global cricket governing body announced on August 27.
The 35-year-old will succeed incumbent chairman Greg Barclay, who decided against running for the post for a third consecutive term of two years.
“I am humbled by the nomination as the Chair of the International Cricket Council,” Shah stated in a release by ICC.
Jay Shah becomes the fifth Indian to head ICC. Jagmohan Dalmiya and Sharad Pawar served as ICC Presidents whereas Shashank Manohar and N Srinivasan have served as chairman in the past.
He will replaces Greg Barclay who officially announced that he will step down from his position in November.
