I will not resign, there is no reason: Faruque tells risingbd 

“I will not resign, there is no reason. No can show any reason”, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque  Ahmed has said this to  risingbd. 

Faruque Ahmed confirmed this to risingbd over mobile phone on Thursday (May 29) afternoon,

He said “I will not resign, there is no reason. No one can show any reason.” 

Nazmul Hasan Papon resigned from the post of BCB president after the change of power in the country on August 5 last year. In addition, several other directors were elected with the support of the ruling party.

After the change of power, the National Sports Council appointed Faruque Ahmed and Nazmul Abedin Fahim as directors for the BCB. Later, Faruque was appointed as the BCB president.

However, there was widespread criticism of his work from the beginning. He has been accused of abuse of power. In addition, there is no good news in cricket. For these reasons, he is heavily being criticized as the BCB president.

Faruque Ahmed has also confirmed that he will announce his decision at a press conference.

Faruque Ahmed met with Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain yesterday night. 

The sports adviser has conveyed to him that the government is considering changes in the top positions of the BCB.
