Neymar infected with Covid-19 again

Brazil  star Neymar has tested COVID-19 positive and is currently undergoing treatment.

A statement issued by his club Santos on Saturday said, “With a viral condition that began on Thursday (June 5), Neymar Jr. underwent laboratory tests, after evaluation by the Medical Department of Santos FC, which confirmed infection by Covid-19”.

The 33-year-old who joined Santos in January is reportedly in a stable condition and is being monitored closely at his home.

This is the second time the forward has contracted the virus, the previous being when he was playing for Paris Saint-Germain in May 2021.

Neymar, who has seen a dip in his form since his exit from the French club in 2023, has 79 international goals.
