Bangladesh suffered a heavy defeat in the opening T20I of the three-match series as Sri Lanka claimed a dominant 7-wicket victory, taking a 1-0 lead.
Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to field first against Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three match series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on Thursday.
Bangladesh managed 154 for 5 in their allotted 20 overs against Sri Lanka, despite a brisk start powered by opener Parvez Hossain.
The innings lost momentum midway, as no other batter could significantly capitalize on the platform.
