Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 83 runs

Bangladesh shone with both bats and balls and confirmed their first win against the host Sri Lanka in the 2nd match of T20I series held in Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday evening.

Winning the toss, Lankans sent Bangladesh to bat first. Losing nine wickets, the visitors scored a fighting score of 177 in their stipulated 20 overs.

The Tiger’s skipper Liton Das back in form, scoring 77 of just 50 balls, while hard-hitter Shamim Hossain made 48 runs from just 27 balls.

Binura Fernando took 3 wickets for Sri Lanka.

In reply, the hosts couldn’t settle down as wickets were tumbling due to the meticulous bowling of the visitors. Only Pathum Nishanka and Dashun Shanaka have been able to reach the double figure with 32 and 20 runs.

Bangladesh bowler Rishad bagged three wickets for 18 runs while Shoriful Islam and Mohammad Saifuddin took 2 wickets for 12 and 21 runs respectively for Bangladesh.

Litton Das was given the ‘PLAYER OF THE MATCH’ award for his outstanding performance.
