PM to open cricket stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Feb 23

Sujauddin Rubel, COX’S BAZAR, Feb 18: The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has scheduled to open formally the newly built Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on February 23.

 

The capacity of the stadium will be around one lakh while it would be one of the lucrative stadiums in the world.

 

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon on Tuesday visited the stadium venue and said, the international cricket venue will be the most attractive venue in the world as it located on the shore of Bay of Bengal.

 

The stadium was built by the own fund of BCB, he added.

The BCB representatives led by its president visited the stadium, filed, its main crease, gallery, press box on Tuesday afternoon.

 

Mentionable, the venue was built on 25 acres of land adjacent to Cox’sbazar Parjatan Golf filed. The venue was approved by prime minister in 2012, BCB sources said.
