Sports Desk: Real Madrid`s striker Karim Benzema said Tuesday that he and teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale hope to combine for more than 100 goals this season in all competitions.
The "BBC" trio scored a total of 97 goals last season, of which 51 belonged to Ronaldo, 24 to Benzema and 22 to Bale.
"We are going to try and beat last year`s tally. That is kind of what we are here for, to entertain people with our goals," the French international said in an interview with Spanish sports daily Marca.
"Over time your reactions become more instinctive. We understand each other very well, we complement each other and we always try to help each other on the pitch. Each of us has his own playing style, but we always play for the team," Benzema said.
He also thanked Ronaldo for his kind words for the Frenchman following the Blancos` match against Athletic Bilbao.
"He is La Liga`s top striker and one of the best in the world," Benzema said of the Portuguese star.
"It is great to receive such praise from him, because he is the best player in the world right now and therefore knows something about all this. I am really grateful toward him," Benzema concluded.
