BB Cup: Bahrain beat Bangladesh by 1-0

Sport Desk: Bahrain U-21 football team beat Bangladesh by 1-0 goal in the first semifinal of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup 2016 at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.

 

Ebrahim Alhooti scored the winning goal for Bahrain in the 46th minute of the match.

 

Bangladeshi footballers have been struggling to find rhythm since the SAFF Suzuki Cup where they were eliminated from the group stages with below-par performances, and the team badly needs to get back to the performance they displayed against Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan during the World Cup and Asia Cup Qualifying matches on home ground earlier last year.

 

The match started at 5:30pm.

 

Bangladesh Football Federation kept the gallery open for the student without ticket so that they can enjoy the internationals football event cost free.

 

Channel 9 transmitted the match live.
