Tamim gets wedlocked with Ayesha

CHITTAGONG, June 22: Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal tied the knot with his long time fiance Ayesha Siddiqua on Saturday.

He got wedlocked with Ayesha, youngest daughter of Mohammad Yasin and Mamtaj Begum of Agrabad, at the Tennis Complex of Chittagong Club.

The celebrated cricketer Tamim comes from Khan Family of Chittagong. His love affairs with Ayesha started during his school life. However, Tamim`s mother Nusrat Iqbal was aware of the matter.

A festive mood prevailed at the house of Tamim Iqbal, youngest son of late sports organiser Iqbal Khan and younger brother of former national team cricketer Nafis Iqbal.

Sources said Tamim-Ayesha`s wedding ceremony was attended by some 5,000 guests including national cricket team players, BCB officials, players and officials of Chittagong sports arena, relatives of both families and friends.

Apart from delicious menu of food, Indian artistes performed at the wedding function. The wedding dresses of both Tamim and Aysha were brought from Dubai and India.

Over the last couple of days, Tamim had been passing very busy time over the preparations of his marriage. On the other hand, his cousin Akram Khan was also busy for the marriage. Invitations of the wedding ceremony were sent to all ministers, city mayor, former mayors, MPs and important politicians of Chittagong.

Ayesha Siddiqa is a normal girl, as like other girls of Bangladesh. She has completed her graduation in Marketing from Kuala Lumpur Sunway University. Later, she joined BRAC Bank Limited for internship.
