Sport Desk: Bangladesh opener Imrul Kayes has made a world record in the first of a two-match Test series against New Zealand in Wellington.
However, the record did not come as a batsman rather as a substitute keeper. He held the gloves through the innings as regular keeper Mushfiqur Rahim, also Bangladesh's skipper, did not come out on the field in the third day for a thump injury.
The 29-year old Bangladesh cricketer took 5 catches, most number of catches taken by a substitute keeper in an innings of a Test.
Imrul held the catches of Jeet Raval, Kane Williamson, Colin de Grandhome, BJ Watling and Neil Wagner.
With his fantastic performance behind the stumps, Bangladesh bowled out New Zealand for 539 runs to get a 56-run lead in the first innings.
