Tigers’ 100th Test: Sri Lanka all out for 338

Sports Desk: Dinesh Chandimal made his 8th Test ton as Sri Lanka crossed 300 in their first innings during the morning session of day-2 of the Test match against Bangladesh at Colombo’s P Sara Oval on Thursday.

The hosts scored 338 runs in 113.3 overs, losing all wickets. Tigers look sharp to have a chance to get a better position.

Spinner Shakib Al Hasan gave Bangladesh the early breakthrough when he removed Sri Lanka skipper stand-in captain Rangana Herath for 25 to leave the hosts in a spot of bother at 250 for 8 in 91.1 overs.

Chandimal scored 138 runs off 300 balls with 10 fours and one six, in a great display of solidity against a Bangladesh attack that consistently threatened.

Mustafizur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan took two and three wickets respectively, while Shakib Al Hasan and Subashis Roy took two wickets each. Taijul Islam backed them up with controlled spells taking one wicket apiece.
