Sri Lanka win by 70 runs, level series 1-1

Sports Desk: Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh by 70 runs in the third and final ODI at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground in Colombo on Saturday.

With the win in last match, the host leveled three-match series 1-1.

Asked to bat first, Sri Lanka scored 280 runs losing nine wickets in their stipulated 50 overs. Kusal Mendis hammered a fifty of 54 off 76 balls, Thisara Perera added quick 52 off 40 balls, witnessing four boundaries and one six.

In reply, Bangladesh were all out scoring 210 runs playing 44.3 overs. All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan scored highest 54 runs facing 62 balls while Soumya Sarkar hit 38.

Besides, Mehedi Hasan Miraz (51) hit career first fifty against Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza bagged three wickets while, Mustafizur Rahman took two wickets.

Kusal Mendis won man of the series while, Thisara Perera got man of the match award for his outstanding performance.
