Ronaldo presented with 100 shirt by Real Madrid chief

Sports Desk: Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with a special 100 shirt to celebrate his century of European goals.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez presented the hitman with the jersey at the La Liga side’s training base on Wednesday.

And the Portuguese star described his achievement as “incredible” as he ended a seven-month goal drought in the continent’s top competition.

Speaking after notching strikes 99 and 100, the 31-year-old told AS: “I’d describe yesterday’s goals in a very simple way: incredible.

“They were unique because we were losing and it was tough to turn the match around.”

“When I started scoring in the Champions League I never thought I’d hit this number. For me it’s an honour because it’s such a hard target to reach.”

And to add extra gloss to his achievement, Ronaldo beat Barcelona rival Lionel Messi to the milestone, with his foe lagging behind on 97.

Out of his 100 strikes, 16 came for Manchester United prior to his move to Madrid in 2009.
