ECNEC okays Tk 11cr for Khulna Stadium renovation

KHULNA, July 31: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday approved a Tk 11,14,16,000 project to renovate the Khulna Zila Stadium.

The approval was given at an ECNEC meeting held at the NEC conference room with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

 

Project and Development Director of Jatiya Krira Parishad Abdur Rahman, who also present at the meeting, ensured this.

 

Under the project titled ‘Khulna Zila Stadium Renovation Project’ a four-storey pavilion will be constructed in the stadium in 11 phases. The project also includes grass growing in the field and improvement of drainage system.

 

The authority of Khulna Zila Stadium hoped that the tender for the project would be floated in August.
General Secretary of Khulna Zila Krira Sangstha Kazi Shamim Ahasan congratulated the Prime Minister for approving the project.

 

It can be here mentioned ECNEC approved Tk 110 crore and 16 lakh projects for 36 district stadiums in the country.

 

Khulna Zila Stadium was declared abandoned in 2010.
