Salahuddin`s biography in Class VII English textbook

DHAKA, Aug 6: Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Salahuddin’s glorious football career biography will be added in the fifth chapter of the next year’s English textbook of class-7, according to Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid.

“We entitled many famous individual’s life history in the textbooks in order to enlighten the youth’s knowledge with famous personalities’ glorious lives. Kazi Salahuddin is one of the prominent figures in the sports arena. So, his memoir has been added in the next year’s English textbook,” said the Education Minister.

The former star footballer who reined the football arena in 70’s and 80’s felt very privileged with such honours and said, “I thank the Ministry of Education for adding me in the textbook and highlighting my career to the students.”

The BCB chief was the first footballer from Bangladesh to play in the professional league of Hong Kong. He played for Wari and Mohammedan club before liberation war in 1971 and passed his remaining career in Abahani Limited before retiring in 1984.
