Masud Rana sets new Guinness World Record

Sports Correspondent: Masud Rana, the football magician has set a new Guinness World Record (Fastest time to swim 50 metres whilst balancing a football on the head).

The Guinness World Record authority officially recognized his achievement on Friday afternoon (November 9). A sample certificate is also issued against the Masud Rana’s accomplishment.



Masud Rana attempted the ‘Fastest time to swim 50 metres whilst balancing a football on the head’ as prescribed by the Guinness Book of World Record at Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex at Mirpur in Dhaka on August 2. He crossed the distance successfully spending only 44.95 seconds. 

County`s leading brand Walton sponsored him to achieve the feat.



After achieving the record, Masud Rana said, “I am really happy. It’s difficult to express the happiness over the achievement. I was eagerly waiting for the news. I have successfully managed to uplift the name of Bangladesh in the Guinness Book of World Record. I want to shine the image of Bangladesh through more records. I want to provide gratitude to the Walton Group. They have helped me a lot to gain the success.” 



Following the issue, Operative Director and Head of Sports & Welfare Department of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn said, “It’s a great news indeed. We were waiting for the response from the Guinness Book of World Record authority as Masud  did the attempt maintaining all kinds of given procedures. Masud Rana will get Tk One lakh from Walton Group.”
