Sports Correspondent: Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan hit 121 but it was not enough as Bangladesh lost the match against England by 106 runs in Cardiff.
England racked up a huge total of 386 with scoring Jason Roy 153 and Jonny Bairstow 51 in an opening stand.
Jos Buttler’s 64 runs also propelled the team to set the big score in their stipulated 50 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh needed a solid base to chase the massive target. But, two openers failed to do that miserably. Shakib-Mushfiq pair tried to save the team but Shakib did not get the due support needed to go past England’s gigantic total of 386 for 6 and the Tigers had to succumb to their second successive defeat of the tournament.
Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes picked three wickets each while Mark Wood took two Bangladeshi wickets.
Earlier winning the toss, Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe opted to bowl first.
