Bangladesh, thanks to two quick fifties of Liton Das and Soumya Sarkar, have set 201-run target for in the first game of their two-match T20 series at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Monday.
Soumya (unbeaten) hit a brilliant innings of 62 runs off 32 balls with 4 fours and 5 sixes.
Opener Liton Das also scored a quick innings of 59 runs from 39 balls which includes 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Opener Tamim Iqbal also hit a brisk innings. He scored 41 runs off 33 balls with 3 fours and two sixes.
Mushfiqur Rahim scored 17 runs while Mahmudullah Riyad 14 runs.
Earlier, Zimbabwe won the toss and opted to bowl first. The match started at 6:00 pm.
Before heading to this game, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe faced each other in T20 on 11 occasions where the Tigers won seven.
Mohammad Saifuddin backed to T20I cricket after a layoff of five months due to a back injury.
Before the T20I series, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe played a one-off Test and three ODIs in the ongoing contest with Bangladesh won all of them.
