Shakib`s father tests coronavirus positive

Mashroor Reza, father of all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, has tested positive for coronavirus or Covid-19.

Magura Civil Surgeon Dr Pradip Kumar Saha confirmed the news to risingbd.

Shakib’s father was tested for coronavirus as a precaution on Thursday last (July 16) as he felt a fever and other mild symptoms similar to that of coronavirus. His Covid-19 test reports came back positive on Sunday (July 19).

Civil Surgeon Dr Pradip Kumar Saha said, “Shakib’s father Mashroor Reza contracted Covid-19. He is in the home quarantine. He is undergoing treatment at home and is now physically well.”

Shakib’s mother Shirin Reza is in good health although his father was diagnosed with the virus. Both of them are in Magura.

Shakib, who is now in the United States since the outbreak of coronavirus, is keeping communications with his father frequently. Mashroor Reza said, “I am in the home quarantine. Shakib is making regular contacts with me as well as giving me much courage. He also asked me not to be tensed.”
