Shakib secures 1,000 wickets

Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has secured 1,000 wickets in recognised cricket.

He took the wicket of Kusal Mendis against Sri Lanka in the first one-day international of the three-match series at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday (May 23) to reach the milestone.

Shakib has 569 wickets in international cricket. The left-arm spinner also took 431 wickets in various recognized competitions.
