Former national cricketer Sheikh Salahuddin
Sport Correspondent, DHAKA, Oct 29: Former Bangladesh off-spinner Sheikh Salahuddin passed away following a cardiac arrest in Khulna in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
He was 44. Salahuddin represented Bangladesh in six ODIs in 1997.
At the time of his death Sheikh Salahuddin had been holding the position of BCB’s Divisional Coach for Khulna Division, the team he had represented as a player at first class level from 2000-01 to 2006-07.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses deep bereavement at the passing away of the former off-spinner.
The Board extends heartfelt sympathies to the family of the departed and prays for the salvation of his soul.
A minute`s silence will be observed before the start of Tuesday first ODI of the SAHARA Cup series between Bangladesh and New Zealand at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in memory of Sheikh Salahuddin, the BCB said in a statement.
