Banani Club brings int’l standard snooker table

Four snooker tables of international standard have been brought in the snooker room of Banani Club by replacing two old snooker tables, according to a press release issued today.

In addition, the executive committee has made several steps to extend and improve the snooker room.

On this occasion, the Banani Club hosted a ‘grand opening’ of the snooker room at 7:30 pm on Sunday (January 9).

Apart from the members, the current president of Banani Club Rubel Aziz was present at the opening ceremony.

In the welcome address, Rubel Aziz said, “Four newly installed international grade snooker tables in the club’s snooker room are fully ready for play. We are pleased to announce that Banani Club is now able to host national and international tournaments.” 

International snooker player named Hammad Ali was also present at the time of opening ceremony of the new setup and played snooker with other players, said Dr Sonia Sehely Binte Quashem, in-charge of director of billiard and snooker room, Banani Club.

Two international fitters such as Pascal Jozef M. Meubis and Inge Andrea F. Vermeulen have come to Bangladesh from Belgium to set up the installation of international tables, she added.
