Coach Ashwell prince resigns

Bangladesh batting coach Ashwell Prince has resigned from his position of with immediate effect.

Jalal Yunus, the chair of the cricket operations department of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), confirmed the matter to risingbd on Wednesday (February 9).

He will not be part of the Bangladesh touring party to South Africa next month.

Prince had a contract until the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. But, citing family reasons, he resigned from the post before ending his contract. In July 2021, he replaced Jon Lewis. He had joined the team as batting coach in July. Later, becoming satisfied, Bangladesh extended the contract till 2022.

The 45-year-old, who played 119 matches in three formats for the Proteas. He has completed coaching level three. The former Proteas cricketer is married to Melissa Kistensamy and the couple have three children.
