Former national cricketer Mosharraf Hossain Rubel died on Tuesday (April 19) at the age of 40 after a long battle with cancer.
Cricketer Mohammad Sharif confirmed the matter to risingbd.
Mosharraf Hossain was staying at his home. But, he was taken to United Hospital in the capital after his condition deteriorated today.
The former left-arm spinner played five One-Day Internationals for Bangladesh (2008-2016) and has 26 wickets to his name.
After being diagnosed with brain tumor in March 2019, Rubel recovered through treatment. But his tumor resurfaced last January.
He was one of the most prolific performers in domestic cricket with 572 wickets to his name.
