Mahmudullah, Mushfiq ruled out of T20 squad

Two senior cricketers Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim have been ruled out of Twenty-twenty squad for the upcoming Zimbabwe series.

With this decision, Mahmudullah’s T20I captaincy era has come to an end and Nurul Hasan Sohan has been named new skipper.

Meanwhile, Under-10 World Cup winner cricketers Parvez Hossain Emon and Hasan Mahmud have been called in.

Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu announced the squad after holding a meeting with Mahmudullah Riyad on Friday (July 22).

Chairman of Cricket Operations Committee of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Jalal Yunus, Team Director Khaled Mahmud Sujon and Selector Abdur Razzak were also present in the meeting.

Although ruled off the T20I series, Mahmudullah and Mushfi have been recalled for ODI format.

Jalal Yunus said, “We are giving the captaincy to Nurul Hasan Sohan to handle the team for the upcoming series. We informed Mahmudullah Riyad that today. Mushfiq and Shakib also know. We are trying new players replacing to them. It’s just for the Zimbabwe series, we want to see what the results and performance are. You can say a brand new team is going there.”
