Ireland escaped whitewash against Bangladesh as the visitors won the third and final T20 of the three-match series by 7 wickets at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Friday (March 31).
The Tigers were bowled out for 124 runs in 19.2 overs after skipper Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and opted to bat first.
Shamim Hossain hit half-century. He scored 51 runs off 42 balls with five boundaries and two over-boundaries. No other batsmen could not play role in the innings.
In Chase, Ireland, thanks to Paul Stirling’s brilliant innings of 77 runs, scored 126 runs by losing three wickets in 14 overs, sealing the first-ever victory against the Tigers in Bangladesh.
Paul Stirling hit 77 runs off 41 balls with 10 boundaries and four over-boundaries.
However, Bangladesh won the T20I series 2-1 against the Irish after they secured a 22-run and 77-run victory in the D/L method in the two rain-affected contests.
