Bangladesh ODI captain Tamim Iqbal will hold an emergency press conference at 1.30pm today (Thursday).
The press conference has been called after Afghanistan secured a rain-shortened first ODI victory against Bangladesh, beating the hosts by 17 runs (DLS method) at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday (July 5).
At a press briefing on Tuesday, Tamim said he would play the first match of the three-match series against Afghanistan, commencing on Wednesday in Chattogram although he is not 100 percent fit.
“I am not a 100 percent fit, but I have decided to play tomorrow. I am feeling better now. I will make the final decision regarding my participation in the next match after consulting with the medical team regarding my fitness”, he said.
Tamim Iqbal has been suffering from a back pain that had ruled him out of the lone Test against Afghanistan last month.
