Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan said that he would leave captaincy right after the World Cup.
The all-rounder said this in an interview on sports channel T-Sports.
Shakib is now the captain in three formats. After the T20, he was given the ODI captaincy before the Tests and last the Asia Cup. Under his leadership, Bangladesh defeated Afghanistan and India. His team also lost twice to Sri Lanka and once to Pakistan.
The World Cup is a long trip. Nine matches to be played. Shakib said that he will end his ODI captaincy with these nine matches.
He said, "This World Cup is the end. I will not (captain) a day after that. That's why I didn't want to take the responsibility before the Asia Cup. I want to enjoy, play, and perform."
I believe we can do well in this World Cup. With your support we can do really good things, he added.
