Uday Hakim’s new book ‘Rohossomoy  Adam Pahar’ hits Book Fair

A new book of renowned writer, journalist, recitation artist and corporate personality Uday Hakim is now available in the ongoing Ekushey Book Fair.

The book titled ‘Rohossomoy Adam Pahar’ (Mysterious Adam's Peak), is a travelogue and written on Adams Peak, a beautiful and fascinating place in Sri Lanka. It takes the total number of the writer's published books to seven.

The book is available since last Thursday at stall No.31 of Anindya Prokash at Suhrawardy Udyan part of the fair.

The 144-page book has primarily been priced at Tk.300. Bayzid Ahmed makes the cover of the book.

In this regard, author Uday Hakim said, Travel enriches knowledge. It provides mental satisfaction. Sri Lanka's Adam's Peak is still a mystery to people. In the book, I have tried to highlight the experience of visiting there as well as important information about the place. Much of  the tour is narrated as a story. That is why readers, in this book, will find three things- stories, travels and information. Hope they will enjoy it.
He added that the book will be useful for those who want to travel to Sri Lanka. The author also believes that the book will be well accepted by general readers regardless of caste and creed.

Uday Hakim was born on 25 March in 1975 at Bordhonpara village under Mirzapur Upazila of Tangail District. After obtaining his graduation and post-graduation degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from University of Dhaka, he worked 12 years in national Bangla dailies including Prothom Alo, Amar Desh, Kaler Kantha, Channel I and CSB Television.

Uday Hakim joined Walton Group in 2010. He is now working as Executive Director of the country’s electronics giant Walton. He is also playing the role of Advisory Editor for the country’s one of the leading news portals risingbd.com.

From his childhood, he loves to write and travel. He has already traveled over 30 countries and wrote a lot of travelogues. Famous Indian-Bengali singer Nachiketa made an album with songs written by Uday Hakim.

He is also a part-time lecturer in the Journalism, Communication and Media Studies Department of the State University.

In addition, he is a member of several organizations like The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Dhaka Reporters’ Unity, associate member of National Press Club and Tangail Press Club etc.
