Babul Akter not under scanner: Home minister

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that Superintendent of Police Babul Akter is not under scanner over his wife murder case.

The Minister made the opinion while addressing a programme at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.

He said that Babul Akter was taken to DB office to quiz him over Mitu murder.

There is no allegation against SP Babul for which police can take him to custody, he added.

Earlier in the days, two more people were held today over the murder of a top police official’s wife in Chittagong. One of them allegedly is the arms supplier of the assassination.

On June 5, three assailants stabbed and shot Mitu dead when she was taking her son to his school bus stop at GEC intersection in the port city.
