ACC quizzes Papul’s wife, sister-in-law

The Anti-Corruption commission (ACC) has interrogated reserved seat MP Selina Islam, wife of Lakshmipur-2 lawmaker Md Shahid Islam alias Kazi Papul and Papul’s sister-in-law Jasmin Akhter on charges of money laundering and acquiring illegal wealth.

ACC Deputy Director Md Salauddin, also the investigation officer of the incident, interrogated them for an hour beginning at 10 am on Wednesday (July 22) at the ACC headquarters in the capital.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya confirmed the matter to risingbd.

MP Selina Islam and her sister partially submitted the documents demanded by the anti-graft watchdog during the interrogation and sought time for submitting the remaining documents, according to a source associated with the ACC.

Earlier on July 12, the ACC summoned Laxmipur-2 constituency lawmaker Kazi Md Shahid Islam Papul's wife lawmaker Selina Islam and her sister Jasmin.

They were asked to appear before the ACC Headquarters on July 22 for interrogation over money laundering and amassing illegal wealth allegations.
